Freedom House Recovery Center is committed to a person-centered, strengths-based approach to behavioral health programs and services. We promote a philosophy of respect for and recognition of the individuality of each person.

Our mission is to serve all in our community on their path to recovery, no matter who they are or what challenges they face.

Freedom House provides a full array of behavioral health services to support individuals on their journey to living their best life. Freedom House is a non-profit organization that serves as a “safety net” clinic. We are a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) certified by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).

Meet our trainers at Freedom House

Autumn Green

Behavioral Health Trainer

Autumn has worked as a mental health clinician for over 3 years. She began her career within mental health 15 years ago working with youth in academic programs, eventually leading to pursuing a master’s degree in counseling from Northwestern University. After graduate school, Autumn continued her mental health career in community mental health, private practice and now Freedom House Recovery Center.

Heather Griffin-Dolciney

VP of QA & Training

Heather Griffin-Dolciney is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist. After graduating from Hunter College School of Social Work, she began her social service career serving unhoused individuals with severe and persistent mental illnesses in the New York City shelter system. She served as Clinical Director of Freedom House from 2007-2023 and is now serving as their Vice President of Quality Assurance and Training. During her work in each of these roles, she has trained staff, stakeholders and the community on many behavioral health topics and services with an emphasis on provision of evidence-based, high quality services.

Shanquinta Daley

Residential Director

Shanquinta Daley currently is the Residential Director at Freedom House Recovery Center. She has worked in social services for over 21 years in a variety of settings serving clients who are in crisis including those who struggle with substance abuse and mental health. Her most noted accomplishments and passions have been training and program development. Shanquinta has utilized her experience and knowledge to further develop and train the staff at Freedom House Recovery Center.

Nikki Shafer

Certified Mindset trainer

Nikki began working at Freedom House Recovery Center as a Residential Recovery Coordinator in August 2022. Nikki was promoted to Maggie Alvis House Manager in March of 2023.  She has worked in the field of human services for approximately 25 years. Nikki became a certified Mindset trainer in April 2024. She looks forward to teaching people the de-escalation principles set forth in Mindset.

Ambrose Ukpebor

Director of Crisis Services

Ambrose   is a dedicated nurse and healthcare leader with extensive experience in psychiatric hospitals, correctional facilities, and nursing homes before joining the Freedom House Family. Starting his career in Boston, he later became a travel nurse in North Carolina, gaining valuable insights into mental health and substance misuse and rising to become the director of the facility-based crisis unit. Ambrose leads a team dedicated to providing high-quality care to individuals in crisis, aiming to empower them to reintegrate into their communities. Beyond his professional life, Ambrose is a devoted family man, driven by personal experiences to make a positive impact in mental health care, advocating for healing, recovery, and resilience.
