COURSE DESCRIPTION
Youth Mental Health First Aid teaches individuals how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges among children and adolescents ages 12-18. You will learn common signs/symptoms of mental health and substance use challenges in this age group including anxiety, depression, eating disorders, and attention deficit hyperactive disorder (ADHD), how to interact with a child or adolescent in crisis, how to connect youth with help, and discussions around trauma, self-care, social media, and bullying. This training is offered fully in-person (6.5 hours) or Blended (2 hours online and 5.5 hours in-person).
